Good morning, everyone.

By mid-August, the sets will only be played in 15 points.

Swiss Badminton decided to introduce this new product from the beginning of the next season.

This amendment was approved at the Annual General Meeting of the World Badminton Federation (BWF), held in Horsens on 25 April.

At the BWF level, the new counting system will be introduced on 7 January 2027.

Since that decision, the question of when this new reality would come into effect in Switzerland also occupied the world of Swiss badminton. Recently, the Central Committee decided that the new rules will apply in Switzerland from 15 August.

All areas of competition are concerned: from the Interclubs, including the National Leagues A and B, where we played so far in three winning sets of 11 points, up to all tournaments counting for the standings.

From now on, the games will be played in two 15-point winning sets.
The break and side change will take place when the first game reaches eight points. In the event of a tie of 14 everywhere, the set will be extended if the gap is less than 2 points and can reach a maximum of 21 points.

Good preparation and next season.
